An active contributor in the TESOL community, Katie Welch, Ph.D., has amassed a lengthy dossier in preparing ESL teachers for both adult and K-12 classrooms, including seven years at the Emerging Teacher Institute at UNT-Dallas. Katie gained a broad knowledge of the TESOL field while serving as President of TexTESOLV, an affiliate of TESOL International that serves the Dallas-Fort Worth region of Texas. She led the board as conference chair of the 2018 state ESL conference and continues to serve on the Executive Board as Treasurer. Katie currently provides professional development to language educators through partnerships with a variety of institutions including the U.S. Department of State, Cambridge University Press, and several adult literacy organizations. She has presented at numerous conferences nationwide. Katie holds a B.A. in Spanish from Baylor University and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from University of Texas at Arlington.
